We had a nice sleep-in, slow kinda morning today. Everyone took their time getting up, lounged a bit and just enjoyed the time. The girls went to Chelsea and SoHo today and Jules and I did the Central Park explore walk. Believe it or not - we discovered even more new-to-me things along our way. We did go by the carousel, the lake, the promenade - but we went east instead of west from the lake and found a little lake just for RC boats and the Alice in Wonderland statue! The fall color is just getting more intense and more diverse by the day.
At one point we passed three different brides getting their pictures done. We'd seen an inordinate amount of weddings when we went to Hotel Del a few months ago, so we first thought that it was just a phenomenon of us being someplace together - but in the end we decided they were model probably doing photo shoots for a Bridal magazine.
We all ended up back at the apartment in the late afternoon - in time to welcome GINA to the city! She's all squared away in her hotel down the street. It was great to see her. She and and Jules are going to do the bus tour and Empire State Building tomorrow and I will likely workout and REST some more. (I'm feeling better, but still could use some more rest)Tonight, Jules and I went to a make-your-own-pizza dinner somewhere downtown - way downtown actually! It was really fun and we met some nice people. We think we were the only vacationers there and everyone else was local. The couple across from us were on what turned out to be a very bad, boring date. We think they are destined for a break up!
Our pizzas were amazing, by the way - and after catching the subway back up to midtown - we decided to stroll through Times Square to see the lights and do some souvenir shopping.
